ELCATEX GROUP SINGS AN AGREEMENT WITH CERVECERÍA HONDUREÑA AND INVEMA

Elcatex Group, the leading textile manufacturing consortium in the region, signs an agreement with the Honduran Coca-Cola Brewery and INVEMA, for the collection and recycling of PET plastic bottles and other recyclable materials.

The agreement has the objective of mitigating the environmental impact generated by waste, through the collection, development of activities and campaigns that make the collaborators of all the manufacturing and textile plants of  Elcatex Group aware of the importance of contributing with actions positive to the environment.

The first step is the collection for the recycling of PET plastic bottles and aluminum cans, which will be done through ecological collectors and will later be processed for conversion into raw material with recycled material.

“We are ready to carry out the actions that lead to the reduction of damage to the environment and we start from home, training and acting responsibly with Honduras.” – emphasized Azucena Tróchez, Corporate Director of Legal and Administration of Grupo Elcatex.

“Cervecería Hondureña remains committed to environmental sustainability, today we make the signing of the agreement with Elcatex official, we hope to capture large amounts of PET plastic and reincorporate it into the production of new bottles, currently all our plastic bottles have 50% of Honduran recycled plastic.” – added Milene Fernández, Corporate Reputation Manager of Cervecería Hondureña.

Thanks to the inter-institutional commitment, the agreement signing event was attended by the authorities of Cervecería Hondureña, INVEMA, special guests, representatives of the Department of the Environment and the Corporate Directorate of Corporate Social Responsibility of Elcatex Group.
